This was revealed by Mike Waltz, whom Trump has decided to appoint as his national security advisor, during an appearance on ABC News.
“We are working on this. I expect a call in at least the coming days or weeks,” he emphasized.
Waltz believes that a ceasefire would be “an incredibly positive first step” from both sides, which would subsequently allow for a certain negotiated solution.
“Everyone knows this has to end through some diplomatic means. I just don’t think it’s realistic to say we’re going to drive every Russian out of every inch of Ukrainian land,” stated Trump’s advisor.
Recall that during his last press conference, Trump mentioned that he is aware of Putin’s desire to meet with him. However, he considers it “inappropriate” to do so before his inauguration, scheduled for January 20. Nonetheless, he later stated that preparations for a meeting with Putin are already underway — it will take place after the inauguration.
