Scholz and Trump agree that the war in Ukraine has been going on for "too long."

This is reported on the website of the federal government of Germany.

It is noted that Scholz and Trump share the view that it is essential to "quickly embark on the path towards an honest, fair, and sustainable world."

The German Chancellor also emphasized that he will continue to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression "for as long as necessary."

Trump did not comment on his conversation with Scholz on his social media platform.

Previously, the Chancellor of Germany stated that he believes Trump supports his refusal to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles.

This is not the first conversation Scholz has had with the new U.S. President. On December 7, he also talked to Trump about Ukraine. At that time, the German Chancellor expressed confidence that a common strategy regarding Ukraine could be established with the new U.S. President.

In November, Scholz held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Subsequently, he announced plans to call the Russian leader again, even though he acknowledged that the previous conversation was unsuccessful.

On December 2, Scholz visited Kyiv. This was his first visit to the Ukrainian capital in over two years. He assured that Germany would provide another military assistance package to Ukraine worth 650 million euros by the end of the year. This package will include the sixth IRIS-T air defense system.
