The words of the Russian leader are reported by the propaganda agency "RIA Novosti."
Putin stated that Russia has "never rejected" dialogue with the USA and is ready to resume relations that were interrupted during Joe Biden's presidency.
Additionally, the head of Russia mentioned his willingness to negotiate with Trump regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to him, it is important to "eliminate the root causes of the crisis," although he did not clarify what exactly he meant.
Putin also added that the goal of negotiations should not be a "short pause for regrouping forces and continuing the war," but rather a long-term peace that takes into account the interests of all people living in the region.
“We will certainly defend the interests of the Russian people. This is the essence of ‘special military operation’,” Putin concluded.
