The occupiers intend to launch 500 drones simultaneously across Ukraine, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate.

The Russian military aims to increase the number of launch sites, which could enable them to launch approximately 500 drones simultaneously.

This was reported by Vadim Skibitsky, the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in an interview with "RBK-Ukraine."

Skibitsky explained that Russian drones are now flying every night due to a significant increase in the production of various types of drones. Previously, there were only "Shaheds," followed by "Geran-1" and "Geran-2," but now the range of these UAVs has expanded significantly. Specifically, he mentioned "Garpia," "Gerbera," and "Parody."

At the same time, these drones include combat strike, reconnaissance, and decoy types, which are unmanned vehicles without combat payloads. Skibitsky emphasized that this overloads the Ukrainian air defense system.

Moreover, Russian production capacities have significantly increased drone output. The official explained that this allows the occupiers to deploy between 150 and 200 UAVs in a single strike.

As noted by Skibitsky, the Russians have plans to expand the number of launch sites for drone attacks. According to the calculations of the Russian command, if their plans for the first half of the year are realized, they will be able to launch approximately 500 drones simultaneously.

At the same time, the deputy head of the GUR pointed out that the targets for the occupiers’ strikes have not changed. These include the command system of the Armed Forces and the Defense Forces in general, aviation, and airfields. Additionally, it involves the most critical elements of infrastructure, particularly energy and gas transportation systems, as well as defense industry enterprises.

Skibitsky reminded that recently the Russians have been attempting to destroy specifically the gas transportation system and gas fields. "The enemy understands: this is what is necessary for our population, to meet their gas needs," he added.
