A lawmaker stated that the government opposed the reservation of workers in the gas industry.

The people's deputy Alexey Goncharenko stated this.

“Who will explain to Ukrainians what will happen when networks are left without maintenance? Who will respond to emergency calls? And if there is a Russian attack — who will eliminate the consequences?” — he wrote.

According to him, due to this decision, heating plants, boiler houses, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and residential buildings could supposedly be left without heat, and the risks of large-scale accidents “increase significantly.”

The parliamentarian did not provide any documents or other confirmations regarding this issue. Goncharenko's statements have also not yet been commented on by the government.

What are the current booking rules?

In November, the government changed the booking rules, introducing a requirement for the average salary at enterprises wishing to reserve their employees. It must be at least 2.5 times the minimum wage (as of 2024 — 20,000 hryvnias).

The employee intended for reservation must earn at least as much. Additionally, apart from the salary level, enterprises must not have any debts to the budget.

It was previously reported that enterprises that have not yet updated but already hold the status of critically important can reserve employees until February 28, 2025.

After receiving status based on the new criteria, they will be able to reserve employees for 12 months.

It is worth noting that 90% of personnel from the State Emergency Service and the National Police are already reserved, and enterprises in the defense industry and energy sector have been allowed to reserve up to 100% of their employees.

Also among those who can obtain reservations are clergy.
