DeepState announced that not all military personnel have exited the "Uspenovsk bag." However, "Khortytsia" denies this claim.

Meanwhile, the troop grouping stated that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, decided to withdraw the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the Uspenivka area to avoid encirclement. They reportedly managed to carry out the necessary maneuvers and continue their tasks along the Kurakhove — Konstantinopolskyi line.

"The spread of unverified and unreliable information harms the tasks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and is actively disseminated by the information resources of the aggressor country, fully aligning with the enemy's narratives", the "Khortytsia" spokesperson said.

More on the "Uspenivka Pocket"

On December 12, analysts from the DeepState project reported a deterioration in the situation around the "Uspenivka Pocket" — this is how they referred to the situation near Uspenivka, Hranivka, Trudove, and Romanivka.

According to the analysts, the Russians are actively storming Uspenivka, and the Defense Forces are unable to completely drive them out. Furthermore, the occupiers can maneuver between Uspenivka and Hranivka, effectively cutting off Ukrainian units in this "pocket".

DeepState accused the operational-tactical grouping "Donetsk" of inaction: "The enemy is occupying an increasing territory directly in Uspenivka, risking to close the ring and leave the Defense Forces units in Hranivka, Uspenivka, Trudove, Vesele Hais and Romanivka".

Sources from hromadske among the units in this front sector also spoke of a critical situation in the "pocket", close to encirclement, and expressed outrage over the actions of the higher command.

Meanwhile, "Khortytsia" explained that the operation conducted by Ukrainian units aims to "maximize the enemy's exhaustion, destroy their resources, and preserve our personnel".

According to FT, the commander of the Joint Task Force "Donetsk", Oleksandr Lutsenko, was dismissed following the rapid advance of Russian-occupying troops towards Pokrovsk. Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi has been appointed to this position.
