Can you register a car without a military ID? What documents does a man need for vehicle registration?

Changes in mobilization legislation have not affected the operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers. In particular, conscripted men do not need to present a military ID to register a vehicle or exchange a driver's license.

According to information from the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the procedure for providing services in the centers remains unchanged. For vehicle re-registration and the execution of a sale and purchase agreement, the following documents are required:

  • passport or ID card;
  • taxpayer identification number (TIN);
  • vehicle registration certificate;
  • power of attorney for another person (if necessary).

Documents required for exchanging a driver's license:

  • passport or ID card with a registered address;
  • TIN;
  • existing driver's license.

This means that men of mobilization age do not need to present military registration documents to receive services at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers. Document processing is possible without additional requirements related to mobilization.

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that appointments in service centers can be made online or via terminals in institutions. Moreover, services for buying and selling vehicles are available in the "Diia" app, while the exchange of driver's licenses can be done in the "Driver's Cabinet" and in "Diia".

We remind you that without a military ID or conscription certificate, Ukrainians are not eligible for certain services. Specifically, without military registration documents, one cannot:

  • enroll in educational institutions;
  • find employment;
  • establish disability status.

Additionally, it is currently not possible to cross the border without military registration documents. If a man has been removed from military registration, he must present a certificate of removal.

Previously, "Telegraph" reported whether replacing a passport is considered updating data. Conscription-age citizens aged 18 to 60 were required to update their military registration data at the TCCC and SP.
