The 14th Separate Drone Battalion of the UAV Forces announced that their operators, in coordination with other Defense Forces units, successfully struck the infrastructure of the military airfield "Engels-2," where the Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers of the 22nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Division are stationed.
As a result of the strike, a fire broke out again at the "Kristall" oil base involving tanks filled with rare aviation fuel for the Tu-160 bombers, which Russia uses in its war against Ukraine.
"We are doing everything possible to ensure that the firefighting teams in 'Engels,' who have just extinguished the flames from the previous strike, remain busy in the face of the difficult economic situation in Russia," stated the battalion.
The head of the Engels District, Mikhail Isaev, reported that classes in schools will be conducted remotely due to the threat of drone attacks.
